Dirty Girl is a coming-of-age comedy-drama film directed by Abe Sylvia and released in 2010. The film stars Juno Temple as Danielle, a promiscuous and rebellious high school girl living in Norman, Oklahoma in the 1980s. The film opens with Danielle causing a disturbance in her class as she tries to have sex with a boy. After being sent to the principal's office, she is given an assignment to work on a project with a classmate. She is paired with Clarke (Jeremy Dozier), a shy and overweight boy who is also an outcast at school due to his homosexuality.

Despite their initial animosity towards each other, Danielle and Clarke begin to bond over their mutual dissatisfaction with their lives. Danielle is struggling with her mother's remarriage and the arrival of a new stepbrother, while Clarke is dealing with bullying and parental neglect. The two decide to run away together to find Danielle's biological father in California.

Along the way, they encounter a variety of colorful characters, including a hitchhiking prostitute named Joanne (Milla Jovovich). Joanne helps them to procure drugs and alcohol and offers them advice about life and love. Danielle and Clarke also face a number of challenges on their journey, including car trouble and confrontations with homophobic locals.

As they travel across the country, Danielle and Clarke learn important lessons about themselves and each other. Danielle discovers that her promiscuity is a way of dealing with her emotional pain and vulnerability, while Clarke gains the confidence to stand up for himself and pursue his passion for singing. Their experiences on the road ultimately help them to mature and develop a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.

One of the standout elements of the film is the strong performances from its cast, particularly from Temple and Dozier in the lead roles. Temple brings an infectious energy and charisma to Danielle, making her a likeable and relatable protagonist despite her flaws. Dozier, meanwhile, shines as Clarke, imbuing the character with pathos and humor in equal measure.

The film also features a strong supporting cast, with Jovovich delivering a memorable turn as Joanne. Other notable performances come from Mary Steenburgen and William H. Macy as Danielle's mother and stepfather, and Dwight Yoakam as Clarke's abusive stepfather.

In addition to its engaging characters and performances, the film is notable for its vivid 1980s setting and soundtrack. The film features a number of iconic songs from the era, including hits from artists such as Pat Benatar and Cyndi Lauper.

Overall, Dirty Girl is a heartfelt and humorous film that offers a poignant exploration of adolescence and self-discovery. With its vibrant characters, engaging performances, and nostalgic setting, it is a must-see for fans of coming-of-age stories and 1980s pop culture.

Dirty Girl is a 2011 drama with a runtime of 1 hour and 30 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.4 and a MetaScore of 37.
