In 1960, director Kishore Sahu brought audiences the romantic drama Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai starring Raaj Kumar, Meena Kumari, and Nadira. The movie revolves around the life of Karuna (Meena Kumari), an orphaned girl who lives with her aunt and uncle. Her aunt despises her and makes her life miserable. Meanwhile, Sagar's life takes a turn for the worse, and he becomes an alcoholic. Eventually, fate brings Sagar and Karuna back together, and they must navigate their complicated feelings for each other.

Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai is a beautifully shot movie with stunning performances from its lead cast. Meena Kumari is excellent as Karuna, perfectly capturing the character's quiet strength and unwavering kindness. Raaj Kumar is equally impressive as Sagar, showcasing a range of emotions as he struggles to choose between his love for Karuna and his duty to his mother.

Nadira shines in her role as Sagar's mother, effectively portraying the character's cold and calculating nature. The supporting cast is also strong, with notable performances from a young Shashi Kapoor and Tun Tun.
