Watch Diary of a Telephone Operator

Set in Italy, this film chronicles the story of a telephone operator that lives with her friend. The story centers around two main characters, Marta and Nanda. Marta (who is the telephone operator) lives in Nanda's apartment. Nanda is intent on getting Marta married so that she can get her out of her flat. The reason she has such strong feelings is that Nanda has found a man herself.

Eventually as Marta marries a man named Pietro, Nanda's relationship is dissolving. It is then that Marta sets the newly single Nanda up with a friend of Pietro's who is planning to buy a boat and sail around the world. Marta later learns that her husband plans to go with him, never to return.
