Densha Otoko is about the story of a young man who is a computer engineer and an Otaku. One day, he meets a beautiful young woman on the train, who is being harrassed by a molester. He rescues her and he instantly falls in love with her. He then receives a thank-you letter from the woman he met with on the train a few days ago, as well a Hermes teacup set. Even though this man has never had a girlfriend before, he decides to look for a few of his friends on the Internet Bulletin Board website, in hopes of getting some useful advice by using his alias, Train Man. He then goes through a complete makeover process to get ready for his first date with a woman he met online, Hermess. However, after his date, he becomes an internet celebrity.
