DeepStar Six is a sci-fi horror movie released in 1989 that narrates the story of a group of oceanologists who are on a mission six miles below the ocean. The movie is directed by Sean S. Cunningham and written by Lewis Abernathy and Geof Miller. The movie starts with the team of oceanologists working on a secret project for the US Navy. They are exploring a seabed to create a launching pad for nuclear missiles, and soon they discover an underwater cave that seems to be undiscovered. The team then decides to explore the cave, and they hire a group of underwater mining technicians to help them in their mission.

As the team explores the cave, they face many challenges and obstacles that put their mission in danger. They encounter a massive sea creature that attacks their submarine and also causes a massive underwater earthquake that leaves them stranded at the bottom of the ocean. With no chance of reaching the surface, the team has to find a way to repair their damaged submarine and survive the hostile underwater environment.

However, their troubles don't end there. As they explore the cave further, they discover an alien spacecraft that has been dormant for thousands of years. They soon realize that the creature they encountered was not the only thing trapped in the cave. The alien craft has been lying dormant, waiting for something to come and awaken its occupants. Soon, the team is fighting for their survival against a creature they do not understand, and the added threat of an extraterrestrial presence makes their situation even more dire.

One of the notable aspects of the movie is the use of realistic underwater sets and special effects to create a convincing sense of being at the bottom of the ocean. The tension created by the claustrophobic setting, the ominous unknown presence and the team's struggle to stay alive makes for a thrilling ride for the audience.

The cast is led by Greg Evigan as McBride, the team leader who must find a way to keep his team alive in the hostile environment at the bottom of the ocean. Nancy Everhard plays Joyce Collins, a marine biologist who becomes the voice of reason and one of McBride's closest allies in the team. Taurean Blacque plays Captain Laidlaw, the submarine's commanding officer who struggles to keep the mission on track and his team safe despite the mounting dangers.

Overall, DeepStar Six is a suspenseful and thrilling movie that combines elements of sci-fi, horror, and action to create a unique experience. The realistic underwater setting and the creepy alien presence make the movie stand out from other underwater thrillers of its time. Fans of the genre will find plenty to enjoy in this classic '80s movie.
