Decommissioned is an action-packed thriller film that stars Johnny Messner as John Niles, a retired CIA operative who thought that he had left his past behind him. However, when a terrorist organization kidnaps his daughter (played by Sasha Jackson), he finds himself drawn back into the dangerous world of espionage and covert operations.
The movie opens with John living a seemingly tranquil life in a small town in California. He has retired from the CIA and now spends his days caring for his daughter, who is away at college. However, his peaceful existence is shattered when he is ambushed by a team of professionals who know too much about his past. They kidnap him and use his skills to assassinate the president of Mexico. John is left to take the fall for the assassination, and he is quickly arrested and thrown in jail without any chance of proving his innocence.
John knows that he has been set up, and he uses his skills to escape from jail and begins to investigate who is behind the plot. He soon learns that a group of terrorists has taken his daughter hostage and is using her as a bargaining chip to force him to complete the assassination. John decides that he has no choice but to comply with the terrorists' demands, but as he begins to carry out the mission, he discovers that there are other players involved who have their own agendas.
The film is filled with exciting action sequences as John races against time to save his daughter and clear his name. Along the way, he is joined by a cast of colorful characters, including Vinnie Jones as a fellow retired CIA operative who helps John navigate the treacherous waters of the global intelligence community. Estella Warren plays the role of John's wife, who is also a former CIA operative, and she helps him to uncover the truth about the conspiracy.
One of the strengths of the film is its well-rounded characters. Johnny Messner delivers a solid performance as John Niles, and he brings the perfect mix of toughness and vulnerability to the character. Vinnie Jones is also excellent as John's gruff but loyal sidekick, and his dry wit provides some much-needed comic relief during the film's tense moments. Estella Warren brings a strong, commanding presence to her role as John's wife, and her chemistry with Messner helps to anchor the film.
Another standout aspect of the movie is its tight pacing. The story moves quickly and efficiently, never giving the audience a chance to get bored or lose interest. The action scenes are well choreographed and exciting, and the suspense is palpable throughout. Director Timothy Woodward Jr. does an excellent job of keeping the audience on the edge of their seats, and the cinematography is top-notch.
Overall, Decommissioned is a thrilling and entertaining movie that is sure to please fans of the action genre.
