Dear Santa is a heartwarming Christmas story that focuses on a mother named Crystal, her two children, and a struggling businessman named Derek. The movie starts off with Crystal, who is a single mom, working hard to make ends meet and provide for her family. Her two children, Olivia and Max, both adore Christmas and the magic that comes with it.

Derek is a businessman who works for his father's company but is struggling to keep the business afloat. His father pressures him to close down a struggling factory and lay off all the employees, including their dedicated worker, Sebastian. Derek is torn between doing what his father wants and doing what's right.

One day, Olivia writes a letter to Santa asking for a new husband for her mom since she's been single for too long. Max, on the other hand, asks for a hoverboard. Olivia, being the older sibling, tries to tell Max that he won't get his present from Santa if he ends up on the naughty list. Max, however, is determined to keep up his naughty antics.

The letter from Olivia falls into the hands of the newly appointed mailroom supervisor, Chris. Upset about the company's impending closure, she decides to take matters into her own hands and find a way to make Christmas special for as many people as possible, starting with Olivia.

Chris takes the letter to Derek's office, hoping that he can help fulfill Olivia's wish for a new husband for her mom. Despite Derek's initial reluctance, he is drawn to the idea of helping out a family in need. He learns about the factory's closing from Sebastian and decides to go against his father's wishes and find a way to keep the factory open.

Throughout the course of the movie, we see the various characters struggling with their own personal challenges. Crystal is forced to confront her own feelings of loneliness and desperation. Max continues his quest to stay on the naughty list, while Olivia tries to convince him that being good is the right way to go. Derek must navigate the tricky waters of family loyalty and business survival, all while trying to make Christmas special for Olivia and her family.

Dear Santa is a movie filled with heartwarming moments, comedic antics, and lessons about the true meaning of Christmas. The characters are all likable and relatable, each going through their own personal struggles that we can all understand. The movie never feels too heavy-handed or preachy, instead opting for a more light-hearted approach to its message of hope and generosity.

One of the standout performances in the movie comes from Amy Acker, who plays Crystal. Acker brings a level of depth and emotion to the character that never feels forced or over-the-top. We can feel her struggles and frustrations as a single mom trying to provide for her family, while also admiring her strength and resilience in the face of adversity.

David Haydn-Jones also does an excellent job playing Derek, a character who initially comes off as cold and selfish, but slowly opens up as the movie progresses. We see the weight of his responsibilities as a businessman, but also the goodness in his heart as he tries to make a difference in the lives of those around him.

Emma Duke is a delightful addition to the cast, playing Olivia with infectious enthusiasm and childlike wonder. She brings a sense of innocence and optimism to the movie that serves as a reminder of the simple joys of Christmas.

Overall, Dear Santa is a charming and heartwarming Christmas movie that will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside. It's a movie that reminds us of the importance of family, love, and generosity, and is a great way to get into the holiday spirit.
