Dead Bullet is a neo-noir thriller movie that revolves around the story of a prominent character named The Kid (John T.Woods) who is a former stockbroker and now owns a motel in central California. The movie opens up with The Kid stealing a car that belongs to a drug kingpin, Kahlil (Jose Rosete). In the trunk of the car, The Kid finds a duffel bag filled with money, drugs, and a gun. With the help of his girlfriend, Lacy (Andrea Sixtos), The Kid plans to sell the drugs and use the money to finance his motel.
However, things quickly take a turn for the worse when Kahlil sends a group of his henchmen to retrieve the car and its contents. A bloody shootout ensues, and The Kid is shot and left for dead. Lacy finds him and takes him back to their motel, where she nurses him back to health. But The Kid's problems are far from over. He is being pursued by both Kahlil's goons and a corrupt cop (Peter Mendoza) who wants the duffel bag for himself.
As the movie progresses, The Kid finds himself in increasingly dangerous situations, and his relationship with Lacy is put to the test. Meanwhile, Kahlil and his men are closing in, and The Kid must use all of his cunning to stay alive.
The acting in this movie is excellent, with John T. Woods delivering a particularly impressive performance as The Kid. He manages to convey both the character's desperation and his resourcefulness, making him a sympathetic protagonist despite his criminal activities. Andrea Sixtos is also great as Lacy, bringing depth and complexity to her character.
The cinematography is another highlight of Dead Bullet. The movie was shot on location in California, and the beautiful landscapes are often used as a backdrop to the action. There are also some strikingly shot scenes, such as the opening car theft and the final standoff.
The soundtrack is also worth mentioning, with a mix of original music and licensed tracks setting the tone for various scenes.
One of the themes of the movie is the concept of redemption. The Kid is a flawed character, but he is given the opportunity to redeem himself by protecting Lacy and taking down Kahlil. The movie doesn't shy away from showing the consequences of his past actions, but it also offers the possibility of a better future.
Overall, Dead Bullet is a tense and engaging thriller that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats. It's a testament to the talent of the filmmakers that they were able to create something so compelling on a relatively small budget. If you're a fan of neo-noir or crime movies, then this is definitely one to check out.
