Dawn on the Great Divide is a 1942 American Western film directed by Howard P. Bretherton and starring Buck Jones as Buck Roberts, Mona Barrie as Ann Savage, and Raymond Hatton as Sandy Hopkins. The movie begins with Buck and his trusty companion, Sandy, riding into the small town of Black Rock to help capture a group of outlaws that have been terrorizing the local area. Along the way, Buck saves Ann from a runaway horse and the two quickly become smitten with each other.

As Buck and Sandy arrive in Black Rock, they meet up with Sheriff Ramsey (Lee J. Cobb), who is having trouble capturing the outlaws. Buck decides to help the Sheriff and soon discovers that the leader of the gang is none other than McBride (Harry Woods), a notorious criminal that Buck had put behind bars years before. McBride is determined to get his revenge on Buck and plans to rob a nearby gold mine.

Buck and Sandy head out to the mine to stop McBride and his gang. Along the way, they encounter many obstacles, including a treacherous mountain pass and a raging river.
