Dante's Peak is an action movie about a possible natural disaster involving a volcano eruption. This movie is about a beautiful close knit town which is built under a volcano. The town is flourishing and they are even going to receive an award for being one of the most desirable places to live, until they get a scare about a possible eruption.

Many of the town’s people are doubtful of any inkling of an eruption, but there is one seismologist who is certain they have a problem. Even though everyone is telling him the mountain won't erupt, he is determined to make sure. The town’s mayor is a beautiful woman, who also is a single mom. She is very supportive of the experts working together to examine the volcano and to watch closely for negative indicators of a possible eruption.

Dante's Peak is a 1997 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 49 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.0 and a MetaScore of 43.
