Damage is a 2009 action movie directed by Jeff King and starring Steve Austin, Walton Goggins, and Laura Vandervoort. The movie follows John Brickner (Austin), a former MMA fighter who is released from prison and offered a chance at redemption by fighting in an underground fighting league. However, he soon realizes that the fights are rigged and that he is being used as a pawn in a dangerous game.

The movie starts with a prologue showing John Brickner's final fight in the MMA circuit, which ended in a major injury that forced him to retire. Several years later, John is released from prison after serving time for accidentally killing a man during a bar fight. He is greeted outside by Reno (Goggins), who offers him a place to stay and a job fighting in an underground fighting league. John initially declines, but eventually agrees when he realizes how much money is on the line.

As John starts fighting, he quickly realizes that the league is rigged and that the fights are not fair. The fighters are pumped full of drugs and the matches are fixed to increase the betting odds. Furthermore, he is blackmailed into fighting by a corrupt cop, who threatens to send him back to prison if he backs out. John struggles with his conscience but continues to fight, hoping to earn enough money to start a new life with his daughter, who he has not seen in years.

Things take a turn for the worse when John's close friend and fellow fighter, Reno, is killed in a rigged fight. John realizes that he is in over his head and decides to take matters into his own hands. He starts investigating the league and discovers that it is run by a powerful businessman named Vargas (Donnelly Rhodes), who uses the fights to launder money.

With the help of Frankie (Vandervoort), a journalist who is investigating the league, John sets out to bring Vargas to justice. However, the odds are stacked against him, and he soon realizes that he must fight his way out of the league if he wants to survive.

The movie features several intense fight scenes, which are well choreographed and executed. Steve Austin, who was a professional wrestler before turning to acting, brings a natural toughness and athleticism to the role of John Brickner. Walton Goggins, who is known for his roles in TV shows like The Shield and Justified, brings a sense of depth and complexity to the character of Reno, John's loyal friend and confidante.

Laura Vandervoort, who is best known for her role in the TV show Smallville, plays Frankie, a journalist who is trying to expose the league's illegal activities. Although her character is somewhat underdeveloped, Vandervoort brings a sense of wit and resourcefulness to the role.

Overall, Damage is an entertaining action movie that delivers on its promise of intense fight scenes and high stakes. While the plot is somewhat predictable and clichéd, the performances of the lead actors and the well-executed fight scenes make it a worthwhile addition to the genre.
