Dagon is a Spanish-language horror film from 2001 that is loosely based upon one of H.P. Lovecraft's short stories, specifically "The Shadow Over Innsmouth." The story involves a man, Paul, who receives a vision of a feral mermaid, only to awaken aboard a boat along the Spanish coast with his friends Vicki, Barbara, and Howard. Soon, a storm rages and forces Paul to dock his boat at the fishing village of Inboca. While Paul believes that he'll find shelter in this town, the pouring rain and occasional lightning strike will soon become the safest things encountered within this Spanish town.
