Daddy's Home is a 2015 American comedy film directed by Sean Anders and starring Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, and Linda Cardellini. The film tells the story of Brad Whitaker (Will Ferrell), a mild-mannered radio executive who longs to finally become a father. After marrying Sara (Linda Cardellini) and becoming stepfather to her two children, Brad eagerly attempts to assume the role of their father.

However, his efforts are soon complicated when the children's biological father, Dusty Mayron (Mark Wahlberg), unexpectedly returns to town. Dusty is everything Brad is not: a wild and reckless motorcycle-riding bad boy who excels in every aspect of manhood. In no time at all, Brad finds himself competing with Dusty for the affections of his stepchildren as well as his wife, leading to a series of outrageous and hysterical events.

The film opens with Brad, who is determined to become the best stepfather ever, preparing a surprise homecoming for his wife's children, Dylan and Megan. His plan goes awry when Dusty shows up at the door, and it becomes clear that Brad and Dusty have very different parenting styles. While Brad is a big softie who makes sure the kids eat healthy snacks and carries emergency granola bars, Dusty takes them out for giant cinnamon rolls and encourages them to jump off high ledges into the lake.

As the film progresses, Brad and Dusty engage in an increasingly heated competition for the children's affection, with each devising more ridiculous schemes to impress them. Brad attempts to build a treehouse with the help of his boss and colleagues, while Dusty takes the kids to a basketball game where he ends up getting ejected from the arena. Along the way, Brad's attempts to be the perfect stepdad lead to several cringe-worthy moments, including a disastrous school dance and a run-in with a notorious biker gang.

Despite the chaos and competition, Brad and Dusty begin to develop a grudging respect for each other, as they realize that they both care deeply for their children in their own way. Throughout the film, Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg play off each other perfectly, with Ferrell's Brad serving as the perfect foil to Wahlberg's Dusty. Linda Cardellini's portrayal of Sara, Brad's wife and the mother of Dylan and Megan, adds a much-needed touch of sanity to the proceedings.

Overall, Daddy's Home is a hilarious and heartwarming comedy that explores the challenges and joys of blended families. With its lovable characters, outrageous humor, and surprising moments of genuine emotion, this film is a must-see for anyone who has ever struggled to be the best parent they can be. Whether you're a fan of Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, or just great comedies in general, Daddy's Home is sure to leave you laughing and feeling good.

Daddy's Home is a 2015 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 36 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.2 and a MetaScore of 42.
