Cut is a 2000 horror-comedy film directed by Kimble Rendall and starring Molly Ringwald, Frank Roberts, and Kylie Minogue. The movie tells the story of a group of actors filming a horror movie in an abandoned mental asylum when they are suddenly trapped inside with a real-life murderer on the loose. The movie opens with the filming of a horror movie titled "Hot Blooded," directed by the eccentric and abusive Burt (played by Roberts). The lead actress Vanessa (played by Minogue) is fed up with Burt's abuse and decides to quit the movie. Burt decides to replace Vanessa with a local girl named Chloe (played by Jessica Napier) who has no acting experience but is excited to have a role in a movie.

The movie shifts to the abandoned mental asylum where the filming is taking place. The actors quickly realize that the asylum is haunted, and strange things start happening. The security guard, who is supposed to be keeping an eye on the set, is found dead, and the crew starts to panic.

During a break in filming, the actors and crew decide to explore the asylum to see if they can find any clues as to what is happening. They find a room filled with old film reels that show footage of the asylum when it was still in operation. They see footage of a patient named Jack Wilson (played by Simon Bossell), who was experimented on and turned into a killer. Jack was then locked up in a padded cell, where he was left to die. The footage shows Jack breaking out of his cell and killing several patients and staff members before he is finally caught and killed.

As the filming continues, the actors and crew start to notice that someone is following them. They find strange messages written on the walls, and props are moved around. They assume that it's just one of the crew members playing pranks until they find a body. It becomes clear that Jack is still alive and has been living in the asylum all these years. He starts killing off the actors one by one, leaving the survivors to try and find a way out of the asylum before it's too late.

One of the survivors is Chloe, who realizes that she is the only one who can stop Jack. She finds a way to trap him in a room and uses her acting skills to convince him that he is still filming the movie. Jack, believing that he is still being filmed, lets his guard down, and Chloe is able to overpower him.

The movie ends with the surviving actors leaving the asylum and driving away, unaware that Jack is still alive and has escaped. The final shot is of Jack walking into the sunset, ready to start his killing spree anew.

Cut is a fun and entertaining horror movie that pays homage to classic slasher films while also poking fun at them. The movie has a great cast, with Molly Ringwald and Kylie Minogue both delivering strong performances. The film's setting in an abandoned mental asylum adds to the creepy atmosphere, and the scares are well-executed. The movie strikes a good balance between horror and comedy, making it a perfect watch for fans of the genre.

Cut is a 2000 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 22 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.3.
