Crossing Point is a 2016 action movie starring Shawn Lock, Paulina Gaitan, and Tom Sizemore. The movie tells the story of Michael (Shawn Lock), a young American couple traveling to Baja, Mexico for a romantic vacation. However, their trip takes a dark turn when Michael gets involved in a drug trafficking ring. The movie starts with Michael and Olivia (Paulina Gaitan) driving to Mexico, eager to start their trip. However, things quickly take a turn for the worse when Michael is forced to take a package across the border. The package turns out to be drugs, and Michael is soon pursued by both the Mexican drug cartel and the American DEA.
As Michael tries to escape the clutches of both organizations, he must use all of his wits and fighting skills to survive. Along the way, he teams up with Ana (Natalia Safran), a fellow American who is also caught up in the cartel's activities. Together, they race across Mexico, trying to stay one step ahead of their pursuers.
The plot of Crossing Point is very fast-paced and full of action. There are car chases, shootouts, and hand-to-hand combat scenes that keep the audience on the edge of their seats throughout the entire movie. Shawn Lock delivers a convincing performance as Michael, a man who must face his own demons as he fights for his life.
Paulina Gaitan also shines as Olivia, although her character takes on a much smaller role in the second half of the movie. Tom Sizemore, who plays a DEA agent, is also great in his limited screen time.
One of the strengths of Crossing Point is its use of location. The movie takes place in Mexico and features many iconic landmarks such as the Mayan ruins of Tulum and the ancient city of Chichen Itza. The movie also makes good use of the Mexican landscape, showcasing everything from sprawling deserts to lush jungles.
In terms of pacing, the movie is excellent. There are no lulls in the action, and the plot never feels rushed. The characters are also well-drawn, with each one having a distinct personality and backstory. However, the movie's focus on action means that character development takes a backseat. While we do get some information about Michael's past, it's not enough to make him a fully fleshed-out character.
Overall, Crossing Point is a solid action movie that delivers plenty of thrills and excitement. While it's not a groundbreaking film by any means, it's an enjoyable ride that's well worth watching.
Crossing Point is a 2016 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 31 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.1.
