Crossed Over is a 2002 American-made-for-television-drama that follows the true story of Beverly Lowry (Diane Keaton), a mother whose teenage son was killed in a hit-and-run accident. She's left with an enormous void in her life, and her marriage disintegrates. As they get to know each other better, Beverly realizes that their friendship has helped her to heal from the pain of her son's death.
