Koichi Takakura resigns as a profiler after he is injured. So, he and his wife Yasuko move to a place that is closer to his new job as a university lecturer in criminal psychology. His new colleague, that works with him on his research, discovers a cold case, from 6 years earlier, involving the mysterious disappearance of three members of a family. Leaving only one, unreliable witness, Saki Honda. This colleague enlists the help of Koichi to help him investigate. After visiting the crime scene, Koichi wants to walk away. However later on, he is approached by a former colleague from the police department, who wants to use his profiling background to talk to Saki. Kochi agrees to help his old colleague. Meanwhile Yasuko gets to know their new neighbors. However, Koichi begins to see parallels with this new neighbor, Masato Nishino. Things start to unravel with this neighbor, and start to get creepy.
