Contracted is a 2013 horror movie that tells the story of a young woman named Samantha (Najarra Townsend) who contracts a mysterious sexually transmitted disease after a night of casual sex with a stranger. Her best friend Alice (Alice Macdonald) notices that something is wrong with her, but Samantha denies everything. The only person who believes her is her ex-girlfriend Nikki (Katie Stegeman), but even she cannot help much.

As Samantha's condition worsens, she starts losing control of her body and her actions become violent and erratic. Her deteriorating mental state culminates in a confrontation with her boss and a disturbing incident with her dentist.

Throughout the movie, there are also hints that Samantha's condition is not a result of a simple STD but is instead something far worse. A subplot involving the sudden disappearance of a neighbor adds to the sense of danger and unease.

The final act of the movie sees Samantha attempting to confront the source of her affliction and regain control of her life. However, things take a turn for the worse, and we are left with a disturbing and unsettling conclusion.

One of the standout elements of Contracted is the performance of Najarra Townsend as Samantha. She believably portrays the transformation from a happy and carefree young woman to a sick and desperate one. The makeup and practical effects used to depict Samantha's physical deterioration are also impressive and add to the horror elements of the movie.

The movie is not without its flaws, however. Some of the supporting characters are underdeveloped, and their actions are often confusing. The pacing can also be slow at times, which may turn off some viewers.
