As Terry O'Toole leaves Ireland, his father gives him a good-luck charm and a word of advice: become a streetcar conductor like your old dad. Terry arrives in America and does not only that, he also saves the life of the president of the streetcar company. The grateful man invites Terry to his home--a far cry from Terry's shabby boarding house. The beautiful boss' daughter is impressed with Terry too. But there's little time to pursue romance. Terry has to pursue the crooks who want to take over the streetcar company to increase the fares. This is a silent comedy.
