C.H.U.D. II: Bud the C.H.U.D. is a 1989 comedy horror feature that is a sequel to the 1984 C.H.U.D. film. The movie features returning characters such as Brian Robbins as Kevin, and newcomers Bill Calvert and Tricia Leigh Fisher who play Steve and Katie, respectively. The movie begins with a group of teenagers who are trying to impress each other by breaking into a military-controlled underground facility. After finding some interesting items, they stumble upon a container containing a human body without a head. The group accidentally reactivates the body, and the headless being escapes.

Meanwhile, Kevin, the main character of the first film, is now a teenager and he lives with his uncle who is the local sheriff. His uncle is convinced that Kevin is a troublemaker and bans him from the police station. Kevin is left without any supervision and decides to spend his time with his friends.

During one of their outings, they come across the same headless body that had escaped earlier. They take it back to Steve's house, where Steve is a scientist and hopes to experiment with it. The group accidentally wakes it up while tampering with it, and it escapes again.

As the movie progresses, it is revealed that the body that the group found is a C.H.U.D. or a cannibalistic humanoid underground dweller. And it’s not alone. Steve has been working on a serum that can bring the dead back to life, and when the C.H.U.D. is mixed with the serum, it becomes a sentient creature, who is quite intelligent and goes by the name of Bud.

Bud is not like any other C.H.U.D. that has existed before. He has a different kind of intelligence and sense of humor that guides him, and he is not interested in eating humans. Instead, he becomes attached to Kevin and his friends, and he wants to help them fight off the other C.H.U.D.s who have escaped from the facility.

Steve and Katie, who are also friends with the group, decide to help them fight off the C.H.U.D.s as well. Things get even more complicated when the military and the police get involved, and the group has to use their wits and the help of Bud to try and save their town from being overrun by C.H.U.D.s.

The movie has a great balance of horror, comedy, and sci-fi, with the main focus being on the characters and their relationships with each other. The writing is clever, and the acting is great, with Brian Robbins delivering a standout performance.

The special effects in the film are decent, considering the budget of the film. The makeup and costumes for the C.H.U.D.s are particularly impressive, with their grotesque appearance adding to the horror of the film.

Overall, C.H.U.D. II: Bud the C.H.U.D. is an enjoyable and quirky horror-comedy film that will delight fans of the genre. While it may not have the same notoriety as the first film, it stands on its own as an entertaining movie that is well worth a watch.

C.H.U.D. II: Bud the C.H.U.D. is a 1989 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 24 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.1.
