Chinatown Kid is a 1977 martial arts movie set in 1930s China during the Japanese invasion. The movie tells the story of Chinatown Kid (played by Sheng Fu), a young man who is taken under the wing of a local gangster known as Black Dragon (played by Kuan-Chun Chi). Chinatown Kid quickly rises through the ranks of Black Dragon's gang, becoming one of his top lieutenants.

However, Chinatown Kid's loyalty to Black Dragon is tested when he falls in love with Black Dragon's daughter (played by Shirley Yu). Their relationship is complicated by the fact that Black Dragon disapproves of his daughter's relationship with Chinatown Kid, and also because Chinatown Kid's loyalties are divided between his love for the daughter and his allegiance to Black Dragon.

As tensions rise between Black Dragon and a rival gang led by Boss Lei (played by Ping-Ao Wei), Chinatown Kid finds himself caught in the middle of a violent power struggle. With the Japanese invasion looming in the background, the stakes are higher than ever as the gangs fight for control of the city.

Chinatown Kid features some impressive martial arts sequences, with Sheng Fu displaying his skills in a number of fight scenes. The movie also features some stunning cinematography, with the streets of Chinatown brought to life with rich colours and detailed sets.

The movie's themes of family loyalty and romantic conflict give it a depth and emotional weight that is often missing from other martial arts movies of the time. The relationship between Chinatown Kid and Black Dragon's daughter is especially well-done, with both actors delivering strong performances that make you care about their characters.

Overall, Chinatown Kid is a well-crafted martial arts movie that delivers both exciting fight scenes and a compelling story. It's a must-see for fans of the genre and anyone looking for a great action movie with heart.

Chinatown Kid is a 1977 drama with a runtime of 2 hours. It has received mostly positive reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.6.
