Che is a 2008 biographical war drama film that chronicles the life of the revolutionary Argentine leader, Ernesto "Che" Guevara. The movie, directed by Steven Soderbergh, stars Benicio Del Toro as Che Guevara, Julia Ormond as Lisa Howard, a journalist who interviews him, and Oscar Isaac as Julio, one of Che's companions. The film is split into two parts. The first part, titled "The Argentine," covers the period from 1955 to 1960, when Che met Fidel Castro and became involved with the Cuban Revolution. The second part, titled "Guerrilla," follows Che's failed attempt to spread the revolution to Bolivia in 1967.

The Argentine begins with Che's arrival in Mexico in 1955, where he meets Fidel Castro and other Revolutionary leaders who are planning to overthrow Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista. Together, they form a team of revolutionaries and sail to Cuba. After a series of successful military campaigns, Fidel Castro and Che Guevara overthrow the government and establish a socialist state.

In the second part, Guerrilla, Che attempts to ignite a social revolution in Bolivia, but is captured and executed by the Bolivian government in 1967. The film shows Che's revolutionary beliefs, his time as a guerrilla leader, his clashes with Bolivian forces, and his eventual capture and death.

Throughout the movie, we see Che's character evolve from a young and adventurous rebel to a mature and focused leader. Benicio Del Toro's performance as Che is exceptional and he captures the essence of the character perfectly, portraying Che's fierce determination and resolve to fight against injustice.

The movie also depicts Che's relationship with the people around him, including his wife and children, his comrades, and the journalists who interviewed him. Julia Ormond's portrayal of Lisa Howard adds a human touch to the story and shows how Che interacted with the international media during his time as a revolutionary leader.

The film's cinematography is also noteworthy. The camera work and lighting capture the mood and essence of the movie, providing a historical context and a sense of realism to the story. The use of black and white footage in the beginning of the film is particularly effective, as it sets the tone and mood for the rest of the story.

In summary, Che is an outstanding biographical film that depicts the life and work of one of the most iconic revolutionary leaders of the 20th century. The movie is an accurate representation of Che's life, his beliefs, and his impact on the world. The excellent performances, cinematography, and soundtrack all contribute to making this one of the best films of its genre.
