Chained, a 2012 thriller directed by Jennifer Chambers Lynch, follows the story of Bob, a taxidermist and a serial killer, played by Vincent D'Onofrio, and his captive, a young boy named Rabbit, portrayed by Evan Bird. The film opens with a harrowing scene that sets the tone for the rest of the movie. Bob picks up a mother and her young son in his taxi, only to begin tormenting and eventually killing the woman. He then kidnaps her son, Rabbit, and takes him to his secluded home.

Rabbit spends years in captivity, being forced to assist Bob with his kill and dispose of the bodies. Bob, who sees himself as a father figure to Rabbit, orders the boy to call him "Uncle Bob" and tries to instill his twisted values in him. Rabbit, however, is determined to survive and escape, and over the years, he devises a plan to outsmart Bob.

As the years go by, Rabbit grows up into a troubled teenager, played by Eamon Farren. Bob continues to abuse him both physically and mentally, but Rabbit remains set on his escape plan. When Bob hires a prostitute, Angie, played by Julia Ormond, to take care of Rabbit's sexual needs, she starts to become suspicious of the situation and tries to help Rabbit escape.

Chained is a film that delves deep into the psyche of a serial killer and the mind of his captive. D'Onofrio gives a chilling performance as the sadistic yet somehow sympathetic Bob, whose desire for control and power is palpable. Bird and Farren also deliver powerful performances as Rabbit, showing both his despair and determination to survive.

The film's tone is dark and gritty, with scenes that may be difficult to watch for some viewers. Lynch does not shy away from showing the brutality of Bob's actions, but also explores the psychological aspect of his character. The film raises questions about nature vs. nurture and how trauma can affect someone's development.

Chained is a disturbing but thought-provoking thriller that will leave viewers on edge. The performances from the cast, especially D'Onofrio, are outstanding, and the film's exploration of the psychological effects of trauma is both fascinating and horrifying. This is not a film for the faint of heart, but for those who can stomach it, it is a must-see.

Chained is a 2012 horror movie. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.4.
