In the 2008 Filipino drama film Caregiver, Sharon Cuneta portrays Sarah, a woman who dreams of becoming a teacher but has to give up her dream to become a caregiver for a wealthy Filipino family in London. John Estrada is her husband, Teddy, who is left behind in the Philippines with their son. As Sarah begins her new job, she faces the challenges of caring for an elderly woman who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. Her patient, Thelma (played by well-known Filipino actress, Boots Anson-Roa), is hostile and uncooperative, making Sarah's job even more difficult.

Throughout the movie, Sarah tries to adjust to her new responsibilities as a caregiver while also dealing with the homesickness that comes with being away from her family. However, things take a turn for the worse when Sarah's husband gets into an accident and ends up in critical condition. Sarah makes the difficult decision to return to the Philippines to be with her family, leaving Thelma in the care of her son, Vince (played by Makisig Morales).

As Sarah struggles to find ways to make ends meet and pay for her husband's medical bills, she discovers that she needs to find a new way to support herself and her family. She decides to become a caregiver once again, but this time for a more difficult patient, an American named Ben (played by Matthew Mendoza) who has been diagnosed with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's disease).

As she cares for Ben, Sarah's own struggles with her family back in the Philippines come to a head. She is faced with new challenges and difficult decisions, all while trying to keep her own hopes and dreams alive.

The movie, which was directed by Chito S. Roño, explores the themes of sacrifice, family, and the importance of caring for the elderly. Sharon Cuneta's performance as Sarah is powerful and moving, depicting the emotional and physical struggles that caregivers go through on a daily basis.

Overall, Caregiver is a heartfelt and emotional movie that will resonate with anyone who has ever had to make sacrifices for the people they love. Through Sarah's journey, the film reminds us of the often-overlooked importance of caregivers, and the immense value they bring to the lives of those they care for.
