Canela is a film about a restaurant in downtown Mexico City called El Molcajete. El Molcajete is owned by a woman named Tere and her granddaughter Maria. Tere's daughter dies and she loses the will to continue cooking for the restaurant or keep it operational. Maria does everything in her power to bring her grandmother back into El Molcajete to make their secret family recipes.
