Can You Keep A Secret? is a romantic-comedy movie from 2019, directed by Elise Duran and based on the novel of the same name by Sophie Kinsella. The film stars Alexandra Daddario as Emma Corrigan, a young woman who spills all her secrets to a stranger she meets on a turbulent plane ride. When Emma arrives at work the next day, she discovers that the stranger is actually Jack Harper (Tyler Hoechlin), the newly-appointed CEO of her company. What follows is a series of comic mishaps as Emma tries to navigate her secrets and her attraction to Jack.

As the movie begins, Emma is struggling to find her niche in her new job at a marketing firm in Chicago. She has a boss she's trying to impress (played by Kate Easton) and a crush on a co-worker (played by David Ebert), but she feels like she's not getting anywhere. Things take a dramatic turn when Emma finds herself on a plane that encounters turbulence, and she spills all her deepest, darkest secrets to a handsome stranger who happens to be sitting next to her.

Emma is mortified when she realizes the stranger is actually Jack Harper, the new CEO of her company. She tries to pretend the conversation never happened, but she's flustered every time she sees him in the office. Meanwhile, Jack is intrigued by Emma and her quirky personality. He keeps finding excuses to call her into his office, and they end up spending more and more time together.

Despite Emma's best efforts to keep her secrets hidden, they start coming out one by one. Jack is surprisingly nonplussed by all of them, and he and Emma start to develop a real connection. But Emma can't shake the feeling that she's not good enough for Jack, and she's afraid to reveal her true feelings to him.

The movie is full of charming performances, particularly from Daddario and Hoechlin, who have great chemistry together. Sunita Mani also stands out as Emma's best friend Lissy, who is always there to offer advice (whether Emma wants it or not). The script, written by Peter Hutchings, is full of witty one-liners and hilarious set pieces, but it also has some poignant moments, particularly in the scenes between Emma and her mother (played by Judah Friedlander).

One of the things that makes Can You Keep A Secret? standout among romantic comedies is that it's not afraid to get a little messy. Emma is a flawed character who makes mistakes, but she's also relatable and endearing. Her journey to self-acceptance feels earned, and her romance with Jack is sweet and satisfying.

Overall, Can You Keep A Secret? is a fun and charming romantic comedy that offers a fresh take on the genre. It's perfect for anyone who's ever spilled their secrets to a stranger on a plane (or wanted to), and it's a great reminder that sometimes the things we think are our biggest flaws can be the things that make us most interesting to other people.

Can You Keep A Secret? is a 2019 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 35 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.4 and a MetaScore of 35.
