Call the Mesquiteers is a 1938 American Western film directed by John English and starring Robert Livingston, Ray Corrigan, and Max Terhune. The film is the fourth in a series of eight films featuring "The Three Mesquiteers" - a trio of good-natured cowboys on a mission to bring peace to the Old West. The film begins with the Mesquiteers meeting the niece of a deceased prospector. The prospector’s will states that the niece will inherit his property only if she can prove that it has gold in it. The Mesquiteers agree to help her, but their plans are derailed when they discover that a group of unscrupulous businessmen is trying to take the property for themselves.

As the Mesquiteers fight to protect the property, they uncover a sinister plot by the businessmen to rob a shipment of gold being transported by stagecoach. With the help of their trusty sidekicks, Stony, Tucson, and Lullaby, the Mesquiteers set out to foil the robbers' plan and bring them to justice.

The film is filled with exciting action sequences, from shootouts to horse chases, and features stunning landscapes of the American West. It also explores the themes of greed and loyalty, as the Mesquiteers risk their lives to protect their friend’s property from those who would exploit it for financial gain.

Robert Livingston, Ray Corrigan, and Max Terhune deliver strong performances as the three heroes, each bringing their own distinctive personalities and skills to the group. Livingston, as Stony Brooke, is the leader of the group and a skilled marksman. Corrigan, as Tucson Smith, is the brawn of the trio, often relying on his brute strength to overcome his enemies. Terhune, as Lullaby Joslin, is the comic relief of the group, often providing light-hearted moments and hilarious one-liners.

Despite its age, Call the Mesquiteers remains a classic Western film that is sure to entertain audiences of all ages. It’s a fast-paced adventure with engaging characters, thrilling action, and a heartwarming message about the power of friendship and loyalty.
