Freelance travel writer Pippa McGee is about to turn thirty. She returns home to attend a friend's wedding just in time to save her father's wedding magazine from bankruptcy after he suffers a near-fatal heart attack. Tensions about running the business run high since Pippa and her father have never seen eye to eye about anything since the death of her mother.

Complications arise when Pippa takes a liking to photographer Hemingway Jones, a man who is almost as free-spirited as she is. But Pippa also finds herself drawn to Ian, who serves as her father's longtime right-hand man. Being involved in a love triangle only makes it more difficult for the independent Pippa to focus on all of the details necessary to do her job as the new editor of her father's magazine. The unexpected circumstances of Pippa's life as she reaches her milestone birthday may be just what she needs in order to finally transition into adulthood.
