BraveStarr: The Movie is a 1988 animated sci-fi western film, based on the popular cartoon TV series of the same name. The movie was produced and released by Filmation and PPI Entertainment. BraveStarr: The Movie takes place on the planet of New Texas, which is inhabited by humans and various alien species. The main protagonist is a Native American marshal named BraveStarr, who has the power to call upon various animal spirits to aid him in battle. The main antagonist is a villainous extraterrestrial named Tex Hex, who has his own personal band of outlaws, known as the Carrion Bunch.

The movie begins with Tex Hex and the Carrion Bunch robbing a wagon train full of valuable minerals. In the process, they capture a young boy named JB McBride, who is the son of the wagon train’s owner. Tex Hex hopes to use JB as leverage to force his father to give up his mining claims.

Meanwhile, BraveStarr is summoned by Shaman, his spiritual mentor and the chief of the Native American tribe on New Texas. Shaman tells BraveStarr about a powerful crystal called the Prairie Sprite, which has the ability to grant wishes. The crystal has been stolen by Tex Hex and his men, and Shaman asks BraveStarr to retrieve it.

BraveStarr sets off on his mission, accompanied by his trusty sidekick, a robotic horse named Thirty/Thirty. Along the way, they encounter various obstacles and enemies, but they eventually find the Prairie Sprite and rescue JB.

In the climactic final showdown, BraveStarr and Tex Hex face off, with the fate of New Texas hanging in the balance. The two engage in a fierce battle, with both sides utilizing all of their available resources. In the end, it is BraveStarr who emerges victorious, sending Tex Hex and his gang fleeing off into the desert.

The movie wraps up with BraveStarr returning the Prairie Sprite to its rightful owners and reuniting JB with his father. BraveStarr and his friends ride off into the sunset, leaving behind a peaceful and prosperous New Texas.

BraveStarr: The Movie features a talented voice cast, including Charles Adler as BraveStarr, Susan Blu as JB McBride, Pat Fraley as Tex Hex, Ed Gilbert as Shaman, and Alan Oppenheimer as the narrator.

The animation is solid, with fluid movement and well-detailed backgrounds.
