Bottoms Up is a movie from the 1960s about the prohibition period in the United States. In the 1920s there was a period of time when selling and consuming alcohol was illegal. This law was designed to stop drinking in the United States, but what actually ended up happening was alcohol consumption increased. There were many different drinking groups that popped up all over the country, and because of this the Law of Prohibition actually had to be revoked. This was a good lesson that sometimes making a substance illegal does not actually reduce the activity around it, only increases it.
