The movie begins with the narrator, who is also the director of the film, driving a desert highway sharing his experiences when he sold books on the street in New York City. The entire movie takes place while taking a road trip out West told in a long conversation. The narrator talks about how after graduation he ended up broke at one point in New York. Desperate to be able to pay rent, he ends up trying to sell his own books on the street.
