Bone Dry is a suspenseful thriller from 2007 that follows the journey of Eddie (Luke Goss), a struggling drifter who finds himself stranded in the scorching Mojave Desert with a psychotic and sadistic former Marine, named Jimmy (Lance Henriksen). Despite their initial encounter being somewhat friendly, it soon becomes obvious that Jimmy means to harm Eddie.

The movie is set on a hot day in the desert, somewhere in California. Eddie is on his way to L.A. to start a new job and is low on gas when he pulls into a small gas station to refuel. After discovering that the only pump is out of service, he continues driving along, but quickly realizes he's lost and soon finds himself in the middle of nowhere with no gas, no phone and barely any water.

At this point, Jimmy appears, seemingly out of nowhere, and offers Eddie a ride in his truck, claiming he can take him to a nearby town where he can buy gas. Jimmy is initially friendly, offering Eddie food and water, and encouraging him to open up about his life and trouble on the road. But, gradually, Eddie becomes suspicious of Jimmy's intentions, after he gives him drugged water and takes him to an abandoned mine where he intends to torture him.

Eddie quickly realizes that he's fallen into the hands of a complete psycho, and that his life is in danger. Jimmy has a sadistic streak and delights in tormenting Eddie. The two men engage in a dangerous game of wits, as Eddie attempts to outsmart Jimmy and escape from his clutches. However, the odds seem to be against him as he's up against a seasoned and dangerous opponent.

The chase continues through the desert, with Jimmy hot on Eddie's heels and Eddie battling dehydration, exhaustion, and a dwindling sense of hope. As the sun begins to set, the tension ramps up, and the two men engage in a final showdown that leaves viewers on the edge of their seat.

Luke Goss's portrayal of Eddie is excellent, capturing the uncertain and frightened nature of the character well. He's easy to root for and provides the viewer with a clear protagonist in a sea of danger. Lance Henriksen's portrayal of Jimmy is equally impressive, as he manages to capture the disturbed, evil mind of a sadist who enjoys nothing more than to inflict pain and torture on his victims. His performance is chilling, and he manages to bring a true sense of menace to the character.

Dee Wallace makes an appearance in the movie as Lorraine, a waitress at a diner that Eddie stops at on his ill-fated journey. Despite her relatively small role, Wallace brings a sense of warmth and humanity to her character, which contrasts with the desolation of the Mojave, where Eddie finds himself.

Overall, Bone Dry is a tense, suspenseful, and well-crafted movie that keeps the viewer on edge throughout its entire runtime. The performances from the lead actors are excellent and the direction provides a sense of grit and realism that's rarely seen in contemporary thrillers. It's definitely worth checking out for fans of suspenseful movies.
