Prior to the Nazi occupation of Paris in World War II, many of the citizens of the city were frantically making arrangements to flee. A cross-section of Paris residents are followed in this movie as they quietly, but diligently, work to get out of Paris just days before the Nazis move in. A student, actress, writer and civil service employee pool their resources to put together the arrangements they need to escape. But as time starts to slip away, the four of them wonder if they will be able to get what they need in time and avoid Nazi oppression.
