Bloodfist VII: Manhunt is a thrilling martial arts movie released in 1995. The film stars Don Wilson, a legendary American martial artist who was also the former kickboxing heavyweight champion of the world. Jillian McWhirter, Jonathan Penner, and Steven Williams also feature prominently in the movie. The story takes place in the Philippines, where an American businessman named Rick Collins (Jonathan Penner) is abducted by a group of ruthless criminals who are demanding a large ransom for his release. Collins' wife (Jillian McWhirter) hires Jake Raye (Don Wilson), a retired kickboxer turned private investigator, to rescue her husband.
Jake is a loner who prefers to work alone, but he reluctantly agrees to take the job after being convinced by Collins' wife. He arrives in the Philippines and quickly learns that the kidnappers are part of a notorious gang who have been terrorizing the region for some time. Jake also discovers that Rick Collins is not the only person who has been abducted by the gang; several other people have also gone missing, including a young American woman named Katie.
As he begins to investigate, Jake discovers that the kidnappers are linked to a powerful and corrupt government official named Reynard Dupont (Steven Williams). Dupont is using the gang to kidnap people and force them into slave labor on his plantation, where he also runs a drug trafficking operation.
From there, the movie follows Jake as he navigates through the criminal underworld and battles various thugs and henchmen in order to rescue Rick Collins and the other kidnapped victims. Along the way, he teams up with a local journalist named Marie (played by actress Françoise Surel) who is investigating the same story.
The action scenes in Bloodfist VII: Manhunt are fast-paced and well choreographed. Don Wilson shows off his impressive martial arts skills, and the fight scenes are intense and brutal. The movie has a gritty, low-budget feel to it, which adds to the tension and suspense.
One of the standout features of the film is its portrayal of the Philippines as a dangerous and lawless place where corruption and violence are rampant. The setting adds a sense of realism to the story and gives the movie a unique flavor.
The performances from the cast are generally solid. Don Wilson plays the tough, no-nonsense hero with conviction, and he has good chemistry with his co-stars. Jonathan Penner does a good job as the hapless victim, and Jillian McWhirter brings a strong sense of determination to her role.
Overall, Bloodfist VII: Manhunt is a solid action movie with plenty of martial arts action, suspenseful moments, and thrilling fight scenes. While it may not be the most polished film ever made, it is an enjoyable and entertaining ride for fans of the genre.
