Billionaire Boy is a 2016 British family comedy-drama film based on the bestselling novel of the same name by David Walliams. The movie is directed by Matt Lipsey and stars Tupele Dorgu, John Thomson, and Sean McKenzie in lead roles. The film follows the story of Joe Spud, the richest boy in the world who has everything a boy could ever want except for one thing - a friend.

Joe Spud (played by Sean McKenzie) is a twelve-year-old boy who is the son of a multi-billionaire named Len Spud (played by John Thomson). Joe is the richest boy in the world and has everything he could ever ask for except for a true friend. Joe's life is one of luxury and privilege, and he is used to getting anything he desires. However, he feels lonely and isolated in his massive mansion, surrounded only by his stuff and the people who work for him.

Joe attends a posh private school where he is bullied by his classmates who see him as a show-off and a snob. Joe is desperate to make friends and be accepted by his peers, so he comes up with a plan to transfer to a public school, where he hopes to blend in better with the rest of the kids.

At the new school, Joe creates a new identity for himself as Joe Bloggs and tries to keep his real identity hidden. He befriends a boy named Bob who is a bit of an outcast and the two boys bond over their love for comics and video games. Bob helps Joe discover a side of life he has never experienced before, where true friendships are formed not based on wealth and material possessions.

As the story unfolds, Joe's life takes a turn for the worse when his father Len loses all his money in a failed business venture. This forces Joe to adjust to a life without his riches and learn how to survive on his own two feet. With the help of his newfound friends, including Bob and his father, plus his former tutor Raj, Joe begins to appreciate the small things in life and shows that true happiness is found in the people we love, not the possessions we own.

The film is a heartwarming tale of friendship and family that explores the themes of wealth, privilege, and the importance of personal relationships. Sean McKenzie does an exceptional job playing Joe Spud, bringing both the comedic and dramatic elements of his character to life. John Thomson also delivers an excellent performance as Len Spud, the father that sets the story in motion.

Tupele Dorgu plays Sapphire Diamond, a TV personality who is the epitome of everything Joe desires - beauty, fame, and fortune. Her character provides a sharp contrast to Joe's new friends and highlights the superficiality and emptiness of the wealthy elite.

Overall, Billionaire Boy is an entertaining film that will appeal to both kids and adults. It tells an engaging story supported by strong performances from the cast, and the underlying message is one that everyone can relate to - that the people we love are more important than the material possessions we accumulate over time.

Billionaire Boy is a 2016 kids & family movie with a runtime of 59 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.5.
