Grandparents who parent their grandchildren is becoming more and more commonplace in the United States, as this documentary discusses. A grandmother who wants to make sure that her grandson is raised in a safe environment struggles with the boy as he ages and becomes a teenager. The boy becomes combative and shows serious behavioral problems. She is no longer able to care of him because she is simply too frail and old to do so and the boy falls back into the system with no one else in his family willing to take on the responsibility. His only real hope is if his mother finally snaps out of it and fights to get him back into her life.
