Bhikari is a Marathi language drama film from 2017 directed by Ganesh Acharya. It stars Swapnil Joshi, Kirti Adarkar, and Rucha Inamdar in the lead roles. The film follows the story of a young man called Munna who lives in a small village in Maharashtra. Munna, played by Swapnil Joshi, is a caring and compassionate person who is loved by everyone in the village. Heâs been living with his grandmother ever since he lost his parents at a young age. Once in the city, Munna starts living in a chawl along with many other people. The chawl is owned by a corrupt politician who exploits the people living there. Munna gets into trouble with the politician, and heâs thrown out of the chawl.
With nowhere to go, he meets a girl named Janhavi (played by Rucha Inamdar), who takes pity on him and helps him get a job. Janhavi is a kind-hearted person who runs a NGO, which helps people in need. She sees Munnaâs talent and decides to help him achieve his dream of becoming a singer.
Munna starts working as a security guard at a recording studio, but heâs not satisfied with his job. He wants to record his own music and become popular. With Janhaviâs help, he manages to record a song, which becomes an instant hit. Munna becomes a sensation overnight, but he doesnât forget his roots.
The filmâs narrative takes a turn when Munna comes face to face with his past. He realizes that his real father is a rich businessman who abandoned him and his mother. Munna decides to confront his father and seek answers for his abandonment.
The film has some good songs, which have been composed and sung by Swapnil Joshi. Theyâre all soulful and evoke emotions in the viewers. The cinematography is also very good, and it captures the essence of the city as well as the village.
The performances are excellent, especially that of Swapnil Joshi. Heâs convincing in his role as Munna, and he manages to bring out the various emotions of the character very well. Kirti Adarkar, who plays Munnaâs grandmother, also delivers a good performance.
Overall, Bhikari is a good film, which has a heart-touching story. It has all the elements of a good drama, and it manages to keep the viewers engaged till the end. The film also has a positive message, which is that one should never forget oneâs roots, no matter how successful one becomes.
