Beyond Atlantis is a 1973 adventure film that follows the journey of a group of treasure-hunters as they travel to a remote island in search of valuable and mysterious objects. The film stars Patrick Wayne, John Ashley, and Leigh Christian, and is directed by Filipino director Eddie Romero. The story begins with Vic Mathias (Patrick Wayne), an American adventurer, who arrives in the Philippines with a group of divers looking for sunken treasure. In a local bar, Vic meets a shady businessman named Vicente (George Nader), who offers him a deal to search for a valuable ancient statue on a remote island called Sikander. With the help of a local guide, Tiko (Vic Diaz), Vic and his team head to Sikander to embark on their treasure hunt.

Upon their arrival, the group encounters a tribe of locals who worship a sea goddess named Amphitrite. The tribe is led by a beautiful and mysterious woman named Saria (Leigh Christian), who becomes Vic's love interest. As Vic and his team continue their search for the statue, they discover that the island is home to a magical underwater world with strange and powerful creatures.

As the story progresses, the group encounters a rival treasure-hunting team led by Ross (John Ashley), who is determined to find the statue before Vic and his team do. Ross is an unscrupulous man who is willing to do anything to get what he wants, and his team includes a mercenary named Marla (Lenore Stevens) and a drunken sailor named Burt (Sid Haig).

Throughout the film, the action and adventure scenes are punctuated by moments of romance and mysticism. Saria, who is revealed to be a mermaid, is torn between her loyalty to her tribe and her love for Vic. Meanwhile, Vic and his team are also being closely watched by an enigmatic figure known as the Old Man (George Buck Flower), who seems to have his own agenda on the island.

The film's climax takes place in a stunning underwater scene, where Vic and his team confront Ross and his team in a battle for the statue. As the two teams fight, they are confronted by a giant sea beast, and they soon discover that the statue has the power to control the creature. In the end, Vic and his team manage to retrieve the statue and escape the island, with Saria joining them in their journey back to civilization.

Overall, Beyond Atlantis is an entertaining and visually impressive adventure film with a mix of action, romance, and mysticism. The film's cast and crew, including director Eddie Romero and cinematographer Justo Paulino, manage to create a captivating and engaging world that holds the viewer's attention from start to finish. While the film may not be a masterpiece, it is certainly an enjoyable and memorable piece of 1970s cinema.
