This is a documentary war movie about the men from Bedford, Virginia and their ultimate sacrifice for their country. In the 1940's, a small town in Virginia had many young men enlisted in the National Guard. They were given a dollar for each weekend they reported, and a uniform to wear. The people who volunteered for this duty were trained as a unit, and they were taken into the regular service when Japan attacked the United States.
During the D-Day invasion, Bedford's soldiers were part of the invasion. Their losses were extreme. This small town lost more men per capita than any other town in the war. This is the story of the town and her brave soldiers.
