In the crime-comedy movie Band Of Robbers, directed by brothers Aaron and Adam Nee, we follow the story of two best friends, Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, all grown up and still searching for their fortunes in adulthood. Tom (played by Adam Nee) is now a struggling police officer, while Huck (played by Kyle Gallner) is a small-time criminal on parole, trying to leave his past behind. They reunite after years of being apart and decide to form their gang of robbers to fulfill their lifelong desires of hitting the big score.

Tom is very eager to see justice served and wants to redeem himself for his belief that he failed as a young police officer when he and Huck were a part of a gang of pranksters. To him, solving the mysteries and catching the criminals is still a thrilling, adrenaline-inducing task. While Huck, on the other hand, is a hustler who sees this heist as his last chance to turn his life around and start fresh.

The duo and their gang of four tackle a series of thefts in search of a fable treasure that Huck has been obsessed with from their childhood. The treasure, located in the home of the Thatcher family, an affluent and manipulative family in their community, seems to be the answer to all of their money problems. The robberies become more and more challenging and dangerous as their snooping around leads to them being discovered by the Thatchers, making their heist even more complicated.

Meanwhile, Detective Brigham played wonderfully by Matthew Gray Gubler is hot on their trail as he tries to uncover the hows and whys of the robberies, as well as his own internal demons. The character of Detective Brigham is well developed and the actor delivers a heartfelt performance. He represents the struggle many individuals experience when trying to stay true to their beliefs in the face of internal or external pressure to cross lines they don't believe in.

The film is a modern take on Mark Twain's novels and uses the classic characters as a jumping-off point to critique the classic adventures, including the themes of redemption, friendship, and adventure. The film is filled with clever and imaginative moments, humor, and suspense, all of which make for a fun watch. The humor, in particular, is well-balanced, as it never takes away from the gravity of the excellent story being told.

One of the elements that make Band Of Robbers such a unique and entertaining watch is its soundtrack, which perfectly captures the spirit of the movie. It's upbeat and sets the perfect tone for the fun and thrilling heist, which will keep you on the edge of your seat. The cinematography, too, is brilliant, as the movie balances many different moods and tones while still presenting a cohesive story.

The movie also incorporates a few flashbacks, which provide viewers with more of an insight into Tom and Huck's childhood and upbringing. These flashbacks, which are well-executed, add more depth to the story and characters. The movie also cleverly uses adult versions of other classic characters from Mark Twain's source material, including Becky Thatcher, who is now portrayed as an ambitious lawyer, and Joe Harper, now depicted as a bar owner.

Overall, Band Of Robbers is an exciting, fun, and entertaining watch that perfectly balances humor, suspense and heart. The movie is well thought out, and the characters are well-acted and established, making for an enjoyable cinematic experience. The story presented in the movie is fresh and unlike any other robbing based movie, making it a refreshing addition to the genre.

Band Of Robbers is a 2016 adventure movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 35 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.0 and a MetaScore of 57.
