Balwaan is a 1992 Bollywood action-thriller film directed by Deepak Anand and starring Suniel Shetty, Divya Bharti, and Danny Denzongpa. The film begins with the introduction of Arjun Singh (Suniel Shetty), who is a young athlete in a small village in India. After finishing his training, he goes to Mumbai to pursue his dream of becoming a boxer. There he meets Anita (Divya Bharti), a girl who helps him get a job at a local gym.
Arjun soon falls in love with Anita, but she is reluctant to accept his proposal. Meanwhile, Arjun becomes the protege of a local gangster, Bhau (Danny Denzongpa), who helps him rise in the world of boxing. However, Bhau's criminal activities put Arjun in danger, and he also gets into trouble when he accidentally kills one of Bhau's rivals in a street brawl.
Things take a turn for the worse when Bhau's henchmen murder Arjun's sister, which leads him to seek revenge. Arjun goes on a rampage to take Bhau down, but he faces a formidable challenge as Bhau is not an ordinary criminal. Along the way, Arjun also discovers some shocking truths about his past, which further complicate his mission.
The film has all the ingredients of a quintessential Bollywood blockbuster. It has action, drama, romance, and some memorable performances by its lead actors. Suniel Shetty, who was relatively new to the industry at the time, delivers a commendable performance as Arjun. He plays the role of a passionate and determined young man with conviction and sincerity.
However, it is Divya Bharti who steals the show with her charming presence on screen. She plays the role of Anita, a bubbly and free-spirited girl who tries to balance her love for Arjun with her sense of duty towards her family. Her chemistry with Suniel Shetty is one of the highlights of the film, and their romantic moments are sure to tug at your heartstrings.
Danny Denzongpa, who plays the antagonist, Bhau, is another standout performance in the film. He portrays the role of a shrewd and calculating gangster with finesse and adds the necessary grit to the film. His scenes with Suniel Shetty are particularly engaging, and the two actors share an intense chemistry on screen.
The movie has some memorable songs, including "Aankhon Mein Base Ho Tum" sung by Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik, and "Jab Se Tumko Dekha Hai Sanam" sung by Kumar Sanu and Asha Bhosle. The songs elevate the film's emotional quotient and add to its appeal.
Overall, Balwaan is a fast-paced and action-packed film that will keep you engaged from start to finish. It's a classic 90s Bollywood movie that showcases the best of the industry during that time. The film's performances, its music, and its storyline make it a must-watch for anyone who loves a good action-thriller.
