Bad Ass is a 2010 American action film directed by Craig Moss and starring Tony Curran, Tom Sizemore, and Johnny Messner. The film follows the life of Frank Vega, a Vietnam War veteran who becomes the "bad ass" of his city after standing up to street thugs and bullies. The movie opens with a flashback of Frank Vega (played by Danny Trejo) as a marine in the Vietnam War. We see him rescue a fellow soldier from a burning helicopter, which earns him a Purple Heart. But when he returns home, he finds that his country has turned its back on him. He is homeless, unemployed, and treated with disrespect.

Years later, we see Frank (now played by Curran) living in East LA, working as a handyman and still struggling to make ends meet. On a bus ride home, he witnesses two skinheads harassing an elderly black man, and he steps in to help. He beats up the bullies and becomes a viral sensation after a passenger records the incident on their phone.

From that moment on, Frank becomes the "bad ass" of his community. He uses his newfound fame to draw attention to the problems in his city, such as gang violence and police corruption. He even runs for mayor, but his campaign is sabotaged by the incumbent mayor and his cronies.

Meanwhile, a group of thugs led by a man named Klondike (played by Messner) are wreaking havoc on the city. They rob stores, sell drugs, and murder anyone who gets in their way. The police seem powerless to stop them, but Frank and his friend Amber (played by Jillian Murray) decide to take matters into their own hands.

They start by gathering evidence against the gang, such as video footage and witness statements. They enlist the help of a detective named Malark (played by Sizemore), who is initially skeptical of Frank's vigilante tactics but eventually comes around.

Frank and his team launch a full-scale attack on the gang's hideout, using guns, grenades, and their own bare hands. The action scenes are intense and brutal, with Frank taking on multiple enemies at once and using everything from pipes to chainsaws as weapons.

But as the battle rages on, we see the toll that it takes on Frank and his friends. They are injured, traumatized, and even killed in the line of duty. And when the dust settles, we are left to wonder if their vigilante justice was worth the cost.

Overall, Bad Ass is a gritty, violent film that explores themes of justice, community, and personal redemption. It is not for the faint of heart, as the violence is graphic and realistic. But for fans of the action genre, it offers plenty of thrills and excitement. And for those who appreciate a hero who stands up for what is right, even when it means putting his life on the line, Frank Vega is definitely a bad ass worth rooting for.

Bad Ass is a 2016 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 20 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 3.3.
