Released in 2010, the movie features the story of a teenage girl named Allie Pennington, played by Britt Robertson, who moves to a new school and discovers that her new classmates are the reincarnations of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table.
Allie is a high school student who has just moved to a new town with her family. Her parents are both professors, and they have come to this new town on a sabbatical leave. Allie starts attending Avalon High, a school that is obsessed with its football team, the Knights. Allie quickly makes friends with the popular girls in school, and she becomes a cheerleader for the Knights. However, as Allie starts to learn more about her new classmates, she realizes that they are not just regular high school students.
One of Allie's new friends is a boy named Will, played by Gregg Sulkin. Will is the quarterback for the Knights and is also the reincarnation of King Arthur. Allie is initially skeptical but is soon convinced when Will displays sword fighting skills that are far beyond what a typical teenager would possess. Allie also meets Marco, played by Joey Pollari, who is the reincarnation of Mordred, King Arthur's wicked nephew. Marco is portrayed as the school bad-boy, and Allie is warned not to get too close to him.
As Allie's friendship with Will and the other Knights develops, she learns that they are in danger. According to legend, King Arthur and his Knights are destined to fight a great battle against the forces of evil. Allie's new friends believe that Marco is the reincarnation of Mordred, who is fated to betray King Arthur and bring about his downfall. Allie is torn between her loyalty to her friends and her growing feelings for Marco.
As the story progresses, Allie learns more about the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. She discovers that her own family has a connection to the legend and that they might hold the key to stopping Mordred from fulfilling his destiny.
