Attraction is a sci-fi movie that was released in 2017. The movie revolves around the story of a young girl named Yulia Lebedeva, who is living in Moscow with her father, a high-ranking military officer. One day, a massive extraterrestrial object crashes into the center of the city, causing widespread panic and destruction. The object turns out to be a massive spaceship carrying aliens, who are now trapped in the city.

Yulia, along with her friends, is fascinated by the aliens and their technology. They sneak into the military base where the aliens are being kept, and Yulia meets an alien named Hekon, who is wounded and being held captive. Despite the language barrier, Yulia is able to communicate with him using a tablet that can translate languages.

As Yulia begins to learn more about Hekon and his people, she realizes that they are not the violent and malevolent beings that the military and the media are portraying them to be. Hekon and his fellow aliens are actually peaceful explorers, who were forced to land on Earth due to a malfunction in their ship.

Yulia's interactions with Hekon draw the attention of her father, who is determined to use any means necessary to learn about the aliens and their technology. He sees the aliens as a potential threat to national security and is willing to risk the safety of his daughter and the entire city to extract information from Hekon.

The movie raises a number of questions about humanity, war, and the nature of discovery. It examines the role of language in communication and the importance of empathy in understanding others. The film also touches on issues of xenophobia and government secrecy.

One of the most striking aspects of the movie is the special effects. The massive ship that crashes into Moscow is beautifully rendered, and the scenes of destruction and chaos are intense and realistic. The aliens themselves are also well-designed, with a unique look that sets them apart from typical sci-fi creatures.

The actors in the film also deliver solid performances. Irina Starshenbaum, who plays Yulia, is a standout, bringing both vulnerability and strength to her character. Alexander Petrov, who plays her love interest Artyom, is also great, bringing a charming energy to the film. Rinal Mukhametov, who plays Hekon, is able to convey a wide range of emotions despite wearing a full alien suit.

Overall, Attraction is a thought-provoking and visually stunning sci-fi film. It offers a fresh take on the alien invasion genre and explores some important themes about communication and understanding. While some of the plot twists may be predictable, the movie is still an enjoyable ride that will leave viewers thinking long after the credits roll.

Attraction is a 2018 drama with a runtime of 2 hours and 13 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.6.
