In 2011, a movie was released called "Attack: Los Angeles" starring Nia Peeples, Kel Mitchell, Dylan Vox, and Theresa June-Tao. The movie is a science-fiction action film that tells the story of a group of soldiers fighting against an alien invasion in the city of Los Angeles. The film opens with a radio call from a military base in Los Angeles, reporting an unidentified flying object in the city's airspace. We're then introduced to a group of National Guardsmen who are training in the Mojave Desert. Among them is Sergeant Michael Nantz (played by Aaron Eckhart), a veteran Marine who is still haunted by the death of his platoon in Iraq.
The soldiers are suddenly called back to base and informed that an alien ship has crashed into the ocean off the coast of Santa Monica. The aliens are hostile and have already started attacking the city. The soldiers are immediately dispatched to the city to assist in evacuating civilians and battling the aliens.
Throughout the movie, we follow Nantz's unit as they move through the city streets, battling aliens and trying to reach a group of civilians trapped inside a police station. Along the way, they encounter a group of civilians led by veterinarian Michele (played by Bridget Moynahan), who are also trying to escape the city.
The aliens themselves are portrayed as a frightening and overwhelmingly powerful force. They are large and heavily armed, and they seem to be impervious to most conventional weapons. The soldiers quickly realize that the only way to defeat the aliens is by attacking them from the inside.
As the soldiers and civilians make their way through the city, they encounter numerous obstacles and setbacks. They come under heavy fire from the aliens, and they also have to deal with a number of unfortunate accidents, such as when one of their helicopters crashes into a building.
One of the strengths of the movie is its portrayal of the characters. While the film is primarily an action movie, the characters are given enough depth and development to keep them interesting. Aaron Eckhart's portrayal of Sergeant Nantz is particularly well done, with the character facing numerous personal demons throughout the movie.
Overall, "Attack: Los Angeles" is an enjoyable action film with plenty of intense battles and nail-biting moments. While it may not be the most original science-fiction movie out there, it still manages to be an engaging and thrilling ride.
