Ask Me Anything is a 2014 drama film directed by Allison Burnett and stars Britt Robertson, Molly Hagan, and Andy Buckley in the lead roles. The movie is based on Burnett's novel, Undiscovered Gyrl, and follows the story of a young girl's journey towards self-discovery. In the film, Robertson plays Katie Kampenfelt, a high-school graduate who decides to take a gap year before heading off to college. During this year, she starts writing a blog about her life and experiences. As the blog starts to gain popularity, Katie begins to write about her sexual encounters and her relationships with older men.

The movie has a non-linear structure and uses flashbacks to tell Katie's story. It starts with Katie's parents, played by Hagan and Buckley, trying to persuade her to go to college. After she declines, she starts working at a bookstore and begins to hang out with an older man named Dan, played by Justin Long. The relationship soon turns sexual, and Katie continues to use her blog to write about her experiences. She also begins to have an affair with a married man named Glenn, played by Christian Slater, and becomes involved with her drug-addicted neighbor, Embry, played by Robert Patrick.

As Katie's blog becomes more popular, she becomes more honest about her life and her experiences. However, she soon begins to attract negative attention from some of her readers, and her relationships with the people around her become strained. She also starts to realize that she needs to confront some of the issues from her past, including her estranged relationship with her best friend, Jade, and her relationship with her father.

Throughout the movie, Katie is portrayed as a complex and flawed character. On the one hand, she is intelligent, funny, and self-aware. On the other hand, she is also selfish, manipulative, and at times, cruel. The movie doesn't shy away from showing the consequences of her actions, and Katie is forced to confront the harm she has caused to the people around her.

Overall, Ask Me Anything is a thought-provoking and intense movie that explores themes of sexuality, identity, and self-discovery. The performances are strong, with Robertson delivering a standout performance as Katie. However, the movie is not for everyone, as it contains explicit sexual content and deals with some dark themes. Nevertheless, for those willing to engage with its challenging subject matter, Ask Me Anything is a rewarding and impactful film.

Ask Me Anything is a 2014 drama with a runtime of 1 hour and 40 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.0.
