Armless is a 2010 drama-comedy movie that revolves around a man named John who suffers from a bizarre psychological disorder known as "body-integrity identity disorder." This disorder causes John to believe that his arms are an unnecessary part of his body and that he would be better off living without them. The movie takes the viewer on a journey through John's life as he struggles to come to terms with his condition and find his true purpose in life.

The movie opens with John sitting in his doctor's office. He reluctantly confesses to his doctor that he has been intentionally injuring his arms in an effort to convince himself that he needs to have them amputated. His doctor, who is also his friend, is very concerned about John's mental health and tries to convince him that he needs help.

John is married to Anna, who is unaware of his disorder until later in the movie. Anna is a caring, compassionate woman who loves John with all her heart, but cannot understand why he would want to live without his arms. Despite his disorder, John is a successful architect, and Anna is proud of his accomplishments.

While attending a party, John meets a woman named Jill, who has lost her arms in a terrible accident. Jill is able to inspire John and help him see that there is a life outside of his disorder. Despite the fact that Jill has lost her arms, she is able to live a full and happy life, and this gives John hope for his own future.

As the movie progresses, John becomes increasingly obsessed with the idea of having his arms amputated. He visits a support group for people with body-integrity identity disorder and comes to the realization that he is not alone in his struggle. He also meets a man named Nick who has already had his arms amputated and who is now living a life of freedom and happiness.

Anna eventually finds out about John's disorder and is completely devastated. She feels that she can no longer be with him because she cannot support his decision to have his arms amputated. John is left alone and confused, trying to come to terms with his disorder and what it means for his future.

The movie ends with John having a conversation with his doctor, who is trying to convince him to seek help for his disorder. John is torn between his desire to live without his arms and his love for Anna. He realizes that he must make a difficult decision about his future, and the movie ends with him walking away from the doctor's office, uncertain of what he will choose.
