Set in the year 2038, Archive is a science fiction movie that follows the story of a scientist named George Almore, played by Theo James. George is on a mission to create a prototype of a human-like artificial intelligence, which he calls J3. He has been working on his project for years, and his goal is to create a robot that looks and talks like a human being, with emotions and the ability to experience feelings.

George works in a remote location in Japan where he spends his days buried in work, tinkering with his AI creation. At the same time, he is grappling with his own emotional turmoil, which involves a devastating personal tragedy that he is trying to come to terms with. Despite his grief, he throws himself into his work, determined to bring J3 to life.

As he nears his deadline, George becomes increasingly obsessed with his project, to the point that he starts to push away those around him who try to connect with him on a personal level. His only focus is to bring J3 to fruition. But when a mysterious woman named Jules (played by Stacy Martin) arrives at his laboratory, the course of George's work and life takes an unexpected turn.

Jules appears to have a hidden agenda, and she may hold the key to the secrets that George has been trying to uncover. As he begins to trust her, Jules starts to reveal information that puts his work and J3 in a new light. Their conversations reveal a connection that neither of them could have imagined, leading George on a quest to uncover the truth about his past and his present.

Throughout the movie, we see glimpses into George's past, including his memories with his wife and their shared love for music. These flashbacks provide insight into his emotional struggles and the motivations that drive him to create J3. Meanwhile, as Jules and George develop a deeper relationship, we see the AI system mature and develop, with J3 becoming more aggressive and questioning its own existence.

As the climax approaches, George is faced with difficult choices that challenge his ethical and moral principles as he desperately tries to keep J3 alive. With Rhona Mitra's help as the voice of J3, the AI system weaves a complex tapestry that keeps the audience on edge.

Archive blends elements of science fiction and romance, packing in suspense, mystery, and drama that leaves viewers on the edge of their seats. The themes of grief, regret, and the nature of humanity add depth to the storyline, while its stunning cinematography and breath-taking set design, coupled with its stirring soundtrack, create a visually rich viewing experience.

All in all, Archive is a thought-provoking and poignant film that is bound to leave a lasting impression on its audience. Its superb casting, enthralling storyline, and evocative imagery combine to create a true masterpiece, well worth watching.
