Angelito’s Negroes is a 1947 Mexican film about racism and prejudice in Mexico. The story is about a pop singer named Jose Carlos Ruiz. Ruiz falls in love with Ana Luisa de la Fuente who is an assistant manager of a school for girls. They couple become engaged before Jose Carlos realizes that Ana Luisa is prejudiced against people of color. He dislikes the fact that Jose Carlos performs with mulattoes. Ana Luisa has had a mulatto nanny her whole life, and she has always treated her as a second class citizen. Jose Carlos struggles deal with his wife’s racist attitudes.
