Anandabhadram is a Malayalam movie from 2005, directed by Santosh Sivan, and starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kavya Madhavan, and Manoj K. Jayan. The movie is an adaptation of the novel Anandabhadram written by Sunil Parameswaran. The movie tells the story of two families living in a small village in Kerala. The first family is that of the protagonist, Bhadra (played by Prithviraj Sukumaran), a handsome young man who returns to his ancestral home after completing his studies in the city. His father has passed away, and the family has fallen on hard times. Bhadra hopes to bring prosperity back to his family by discovering the family treasure, which is believed to be hidden somewhere in the house.
The other family in the village is that of Thampi (played by Manoj K. Jayan), a wealthy landowner who has a beautiful daughter named Ananthi (played by Kavya Madhavan). Thampi is a corrupt and evil man who is feared by the villagers. Ananthi, on the other hand, is a kind and gentle soul who is loved by all.
Bhadra and Ananthi become friends, and Bhadra starts to develop feelings for her. When Ananthi is possessed by a spirit, Bhadra learns that the only way to save her is by finding the magical Anandabhadram stone. The stone is said to possess immense power, and whoever possesses it can control the elements and even bring the dead back to life.
Bhadra sets out on a dangerous and adventurous quest to find the stone. Along the way, he encounters various obstacles and enemies, including Thampi and his henchmen. He also meets a mysterious woman named Bhama (played by Riya Sen), who helps him on his journey.
The movie is filled with amazing visuals and stunning cinematography by Santosh Sivan. The lush green forests and serene backwaters of Kerala provide a beautiful backdrop for the story. The movie also features some spectacular action sequences and special effects, which add to the overall cinematic experience.
Prithviraj Sukumaran delivers a strong performance as Bhadra, the determined and courageous hero of the story. Kavya Madhavan is also excellent as Ananthi, the sweet and innocent girl who is caught in the middle of the conflict. Manoj K. Jayan is convincing as Thampi, the evil and manipulative villain who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
Overall, Anandabhadram is a fantastic movie that transports the viewer to a magical world filled with wonder and adventure. The story is gripping, the visuals are stunning, and the performances are top-notch. It is a must-watch for anyone who loves fantasy movies or is a fan of Malayalam cinema.
